Tanner

Hi Bill and Terry,

I hope you remember me as the one who took Sarge or as we call him Tanner. I retired in May of 2007 and did not have e mail until just lately. To give you an update Tanner and the English Cocker next door have had two litters of pups. His second one dropped and we just could not take advantage of the opportunity. The first litter was mostly black and white (mom) and were born on the fourth of July. there was one that one a dead ringer for tanner and he went to some good friends in Chicago that had the (bad?) fortune to visit us when they were four weeks old and they loved Tanner so they were hooked. They have a 14 year old son and he and Tanner were welded at the hip the three days they stayed with us, so his parents had no choice, they love their dog so much they are trying to get their neighbors to buy one of the second litter of 3 boys and two girls (four of which look like tanner. Last fall Tanner got to go hunting 6 times and only saw bout 5000 pheasants! he needs a little training about staying close but he is a bird machine! Right now he is lying on my foot as I send this message. We thought two times with him going insane during his dates with the neighbor girl was about enough so we had him fixed last month and he seems to have calmed down a lot. However he found 7 deer yesterday on the road into our home in Minnesota so he now thinks he is a deer hunter. I am taking him to a professional trainer next week to get some touch up stuff but only for a day at a time as he is too special to leave with someone for a few weeks and his place at night is next to my bed. In fact I can’t even leave a room without him following me or sometimes eve move across the room. In short, we are very happy to have him and can’t imagine what we did before he came. Thanks! Are you going to retire soon? Glad to see you are still in the business and hope to hear from you.

Tanner

Bill, Tanner is wonderful. I took him out the last week of  Dec ( I know he was too young  but there were so many birds) he found his  first rooster in two minutes and found 50 more that day.  I lost him in 320 acres for awhile because there were so many birds and he got out ahead but I found him thank god! Do you think I should go for a shock collar; he is so sweet I hate to do that? He has not been neutered and is next to me every minute I am home. My retirement date is May 1st.  Tanner is the smartest dog we have ever had. Thanks

Rick
